Darrell Smith has joined Harbourfront Wealth Management with almost 30 years of financial services experience including over 20 years as a Certified Financial Planner. Having built his financial planning practice during the past 26 plus years with a large Canadian financial planning and investment company, Darrell’s focus on building and implementing comprehensive financial planning and wealth management strategies has resulted in a number of regional and national recognition awards for business development. Darrell and his team have developed their practice through dedication to providing comprehensive financial planning to all their clients with a passion for building relationships that have evolved into great personal relationships with clients’ goals and dreams at the core of their business. This dedication to clients has resulted in a comfort zone for clients that they have consistently referred their friends and families to Darrell’s financial planning practice and has been the core source of business development for the practice.

Darrell believes that the advanced financial planning and wealth management tools facilitated by HarbourFront Wealth Management and the elite advisory practices that he will partner with across Canada will further enhance the team’s ability to meet the financial planning needs of his clients and future clients throughout their financial journeys.

Darrell and Carmen (Darrell’s wife and business partner) believe that they have truly been blessed to have been able to realize significant benefits from their business and have developed a passion for giving back to their community in terms of both of resources and efforts. Darrell has served a number of executive roles on many local charitable organizations and has supported a variety of non-profit, charities and minor sports organizations in the Quinte Area. Currently, Darrell is Chair of the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation, and board member for Volunteer and Information Quinte and board member and Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Belleville and the allocation committee for the United Way of Hastings and Prince Edward. Beyond executive positions and charitable donations, Carmen and Darrell are active volunteers for the United Way of Hastings Prince Edward, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Quinte, Rotary Club of Belleville, Volunteer and Information Quinte, Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation to name just a few. Dedicated volunteers and passionate supporters of the Quinte area, Carmen and Darrell were deeply humbled to be recognized by the Children’s Foundation in March 2018 as Guardian Angels for 2018 for their support of philanthropic endeavours in the Quinte area with a focus on children and youth.

Born and raised in Belleville, Carmen and Darrell are delighted to call the Quinte area home. They enjoy traveling together, outdoor activities, attending sporting events and taking care of their three dogs.
