Fernando brings a unique worldview to the Montilla Private Wealth team. He has more than two decades of international experience in strategy and business development with valuable industry expertise in pharmaceuticals, information technology (I.T.), business process outsourcing, and finance.
At the age of 19, he started his first venture. An entrepreneur at heart, he has since co-founded and raised capital for ventures in I.T. and digital media in Asia. His work as an I.T. specialist includes systems development for UNICEF, and the World Health Organization.
Returning to Asia after more than a decade in Europe and Africa, he joined SGV/Ernst & Young as Director in the firm’s strategy consulting practice, leading client engagements in the region. After four years in the consulting industry, he joined the Philippine trade department as concurrent Executive Director of the Export Development Council, and the National Competitiveness Council.
As an international trade professional, he oversaw the marketing, promotion and development of the Philippines’ US$60 billion export sector and participated in crafting multilateral and bilateral trade agreements and policies.
Fernando has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of the Philippines and earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland. He has lived and worked in various countries in Africa, Switzerland, Singapore, the United States and Canada.
During his free time, he is always ready for a friendly game of golf or you might also catch him in the kitchen trying out new recipes with his wife and two daughters.
